MG is getting ready to impress at Auto China 2024 with its new electric hypercar concept called the EXE181. Inspired by the famous MG EX181, which set a land speed record in 1957, this futuristic concept car aims to push the limits of design and performance in the automotive world.
The MG EXE181 is designed to be super aerodynamic, shaped like a teardrop to cut through the air smoothly. Its drag coefficient, which measures how much air resistance it faces, is incredibly low at 0.181. This makes it better than previous models and even beats competitors like the Volkswagen XL1 and the Mercedes Vision EQXX in terms of aerodynamics.
Underneath its smooth design, there’s a really powerful engine in the EXE181, driven by four electric motors—one for each wheel. Though we don’t know all the details yet, MG suggests it’ll have over 1,000 horsepower, letting the EXE181 go from 0 to 100 kph in just 1.9 seconds. This puts it in the same class as super-fast cars like the Rimac Nevera.
In the cockpit, there’s a new steering wheel that looks like a yoke and has a touchscreen built into it. We’re not sure yet how it will be made, but MG’s concept suggests a future where fancy technology blends smoothly with luxury cars.
The MG EXE181 is still just an idea for now, but its bold looks and powerful abilities give us a sneak peek at what future electric hypercars might be like. It aims to beat the record speed set by its predecessor, the EX181, and shake up the car world by pushing boundaries and taking on big players in the industry.
