Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a notable decline on Thursday, with a decrease of Rs1,700 per tola following three consecutive sessions of gains, ultimately reaching an all-time high level.
As reported by the Sarafa Association, the price of gold dropped by Rs1,700, closing at Rs250,200 in Pakistan compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs251,900 per tola. Similarly, the rate of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs1,458, reaching Rs214,506.
In the international market, gold also witnessed a decrease in value, with the price per ounce dropping by $17 to close at $2,395.
This decrease comes after a recent surge in gold rates on April 17, when prices in Pakistan reached another all-time high amidst unrest in the Middle East.
According to data shared by the Sarafa Association, the rate of 24-carat gold increased by Rs2,200 per tola and Rs1,887 per 10 grams, reaching Rs251,900 and Rs215,964, respectively. Additionally, the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also experienced a surge, trading at Rs197,967.
