The Punjab government has introduced an online vehicle verification system to safeguard citizens from potential legal issues and fraud when purchasing vehicles, including popular models like the Honda City.

This system allows individuals to verify vehicles through both the Excise Department and Punjab Police, either online or by visiting their respective offices. This service is particularly useful for verifying Honda City cars, which are among the top-selling vehicles.

Online Vehicle Verification by Number

To perform an online vehicle verification, visit the page https://mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk/ on the excise and taxation department’s website. Enter the valid number of the Honda City or any other vehicle to access information about the vehicle’s owner.

Vehicle Verification from Police

For an additional layer of verification, people can also visit a nearby Police Khidmat Markaz to check if the vehicle they intend to purchase has any criminal record in any police station across Punjab.

Required documents for verification include the original and a copy of the applicant’s CNIC, original vehicle documents, a copy of the vehicle owner’s CNIC, a copy of the NOC (if the vehicle is registered under a bank or company), and a copy of the TP Message if the vehicle is involved in a criminal case and has been duly verified by the court.

The processing fee for motor cycles is Rs. 500, while for other vehicles it is Rs. 2000. The verification process typically takes around 40 minutes and can be done on the spot.
