The Ministry of Religious Affairs has submitted the Hajj Policy for the year 2024 to the interim federal cabinet for its endorsement.
Muslims from around the globe partake in the sacred rituals in Makkah and Madinah during the Islamic month of Zilhajj every year.
As per reports, the government has proposed to levy a fee of Rs1.1 per person for the government Hajj scheme. Additionally, it has been decided to extend the sponsorship scheme into the next year in order to alleviate the financial burden, as Pakistan will require $28 million for the upcoming Hajj.
According to the suggested Hajj policy, a quota of 10,000 pilgrims will have the opportunity to perform Hajj through the sponsorship scheme. Under this arrangement, the expenses for Hajj will be calculated in dollars. Pakistan’s allocated Hajj quota for the year 2024 is 179,210.
