The Shalimar Express, which traditionally ran between Lahore and Karachi, was reinstated in May 2023 after an eight-month hiatus. During this period, Pakistan Railways took significant steps to improve the service, refurbishing 19 coaches to enhance the overall experience for passengers.
Previously, the train’s route included stops at Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Rohri, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan via Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, and finally, Lahore.
