ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has officially launched a Digital Driving License Card, marking a significant step toward modernizing traffic management in the federal capital. This new digital card comes equipped with twelve advanced security features, making it nearly impossible to forge or tamper with.
The initiative is part of the broader effort to streamline traffic enforcement. In the near future, the digital license will be linked with multiple government departments, including Excise, NADRA, and the Safe City Authority, which will help in controlling traffic violations and improving road safety.
How to Apply for the Digital Driving License
If you already hold a valid driving license in Islamabad, you can apply for the new digital driving license card by paying a nominal fee. The process is relatively simple, and applications can be submitted within the Islamabad region. The digital license is designed to be more secure and convenient for drivers.
Digital Driving License Card Fee – November 2024
The fee for the Digital Driving License Card has been set at Rs 2,000. This revised fee structure, which was introduced in May 2024, is part of a larger update to the city’s driving license fee system.
Updated Islamabad Driving License Fee Structure
The Islamabad administration made significant changes to the fee structure for various driving licenses earlier this year, with a noticeable increase in charges across the board. The fee hikes came into effect immediately after a notification from the Chief Commissioner’s office.
Here’s a breakdown of the new driving license fees for Islamabad:
- Learner Driving Permit (6-month validity): Increased to Rs 1,000 (previously Rs 349).
- Motorcycle + Motor Car License (Non-professional): Raised to Rs 3,000 (up from Rs 1,800).
- Professional License (LTV & HTV): Now Rs 10,000 (previously Rs 2,100).
- Digital Driving License Card: Set at Rs 2,000 (increased from the previous fee).
These fee adjustments apply to both new licenses and renewals.
