According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, with light snowfall over the hills, is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Friday night and Saturday.
A weak westerly wave prevailing over the upper regions of Pakistan is expected to persist during the next 12 hours, contributing to these weather conditions.
On Friday night, rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with light snowfall over the hills, are anticipated in the twin cities, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas.
For Saturday, partly cloudy weather with rain, wind, and thunderstorms is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, lower Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, and Balochistan during the evening and night.
On Saturday and Sunday, Islamabad’s maximum temperatures are expected to range between 26-28 degrees Celsius, while Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures are forecasted to remain between 25-27 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall was recorded in various regions during the last 24 hours, including Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, north/central Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Zhob. Dry weather prevailed in other parts of the country.
