LAHORE – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday night and Thursday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
According to the current weather conditions, most areas of the country are experiencing continental air. In the northern parts of Balochistan and western regions, there is a slight westerly wave present. This wave is expected to spread to the upper parts of the country tonight and may continue until tomorrow (Thursday).
Under these conditions, cloudy weather with light rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal and Lahore on Wednesday night. Rains with snowfall are likely in Murree, Galyat and surroundings. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
On Thursday, there will be cloudy weather with light rain, wind, and thunderstorms in some areas including Khushab, Mianwali, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, and Lahore during the morning. Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas may also experience light rain, wind, and thunderstorms. The rest of the province will have cold and dry weather.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 10-12 C on Friday.
In the past day, most areas of the province experienced cold and dry weather, with freezing conditions in the upper districts. Murree was the coldest location in the province, with temperatures falling 1 degree Celsius below freezing. The relative humidity in the morning was measured at 55 percent.
