Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, has revealed that a half-day in offices in Karachi on Friday (tomorrow) to avoid any unfortunate events amid the forecast of heavy rainfall in the port city.
In a statement on X, the mayor said that the administration has already made the necessary preparations. However, as a matter of abundant precaution, it has been decided that tomorrow will be a half day for offices in the Karachi division from 2 PM.
“Citizens are requested to also avoid unnecessary movement to avoid any inconvenience,” the mayor added.

Previously, the Chief Minister of Sindh declared a rain emergency in the province after hearing a weather forecast that predicted heavy rainfall. “Rainwater is likely to come into Sindh from the Khuzdar mountain range,” stated the CM of Sindh.
He instructed the Larkana Commissioner to take all the necessary steps to deal with the situation. Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of being fully prepared for potential rainfall.
The Chief Minister asked the DIG Traffic to make traffic better in the city. Also, the Meteorological Office said there will be heavy rain in many areas of Sindh. There might also be wind or thunderstorms in places like Karachi, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, and Mirpurkhas on February 29th and March 1st.
During this time, there may be hailstorms occurring in some isolated areas.
