The devastating incident unfolded as Keith Frierson was shot while stepping outside his apartment to ride his bike. Witnesses guided deputies to an apartment where the suspected shooters, including Davis, had taken refuge. Prompt action by law enforcement led to the peaceful apprehension of everyone involved.
The investigation brought to light troubling details: the 10-year-old discovered a firearm in Davis’ vehicle while fetching cigarettes, shared this information, and tragically shot the victim. Detectives recovered the discarded firearm, suggesting an attempt by Davis to dispose of it. Further scrutiny revealed that Davis, prohibited from owning a firearm, had a weapon reported stolen in 2017.
The juvenile responsible for the fatal shot has been arrested and is now in the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility. Davis, facing multiple felony charges, is being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail.
