Weather update: Pak Weather, a private weather forecasting company, forecasts that rainfall from June to September will be 57.8% higher than usual across the country.
It should be recalled that during the 2022 monsoon season, Pakistan received 162% higher rainfall.
Out of 36 experts, 47.2% think there will be more rain than usual this monsoon season. Moreover, 44.2% believe the whole country will get above-normal rainfall, while only 8.3% predict a normal monsoon season this year.
Punjab is expected to get 19.4% more rain than usual from June to September. Sindh is likely to see extremely high rainfall, with chances of rain being 103.9% above normal during the monsoon season.
Furthermore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to see 8.1% above-average rainfall during this period.
Experts have predicted that Balochistan will experience the highest rainfall during the monsoon season. The overall expected rainfall is 140.2%, indicating a possibility of extremely high and above-normal rains.
Azad Kashmir is expected to have 6.4% above-normal rainfall from June to September.
The monsoon is likely to bring similar weather to the valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan, with rainfall expected to be about normal, approximately 2.9% above the usual amount.
