LAHORE – Starting from April 26, Lahore and some areas in Punjab might experience rain, wind, thunderstorms, and occasional hailstorms.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a weather system called a westerly wave is expected to move into the western regions of Pakistan on the night of April 24th. By April 26th, it’s likely to affect most of the northern areas of the country.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few moderate to heavy falls are expected in Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan and Sahiwal from 26th to 29th April (morning).
From April 26th to 28th, areas like Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar might experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with some breaks in between. There could also be hailstorms in some places during this time.

From April 27th to 29th, there could be heavy rain in Murree and Galyat, which might lead to landslides. There’s also a chance of windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning during this time, which could be dangerous for people, crops, and structures like electric poles and solar panels. Farmers should take care of their crops considering the weather. Tourists should avoid unnecessary travel, especially from April 26th to 29th. Temperatures might go down during the rainy period.
