Australian citizen Who entered ground during world cup final – Someone from another country who ran onto the field during the ICC World Cup final match between India and Australia has been taken into custody for trespassing. The court has decided to keep them in custody until 5 pm tomorrow, November 21.
Today, the person accused of a crime appeared in the Gandhinagar sessions court. The police asked for a 10-day remand, but the court decided to grant only a one-day remand at this time.
During a major security breach at Narendra Modi Stadium, an Australian guy named Ven Johnson ran onto the field during the India-Australia final match of the Cricket World Cup 2023. He went up to Virat Kohli, who was playing for India, and touched him while holding the Palestine flag. The person was wearing a t-shirt with a message supporting Palestine and asking Israel to stop bombing.

As per a police complaint filed by Chandkheda Police, Ven Johnson attempted to jump the net around 3:30 pm. When staff intervened, he pushed them aside and successfully entered the ground. He made it onto the cricket field but was caught and taken out of the stadium. When they asked him about it, he said his name was Wen Johnson, he’s 24 years old, and he’s a big fan of Virat Kohli from Sydney, Australia. Now he’s facing charges under Indian law, and the crime branch is handling the case.
