Gauss, Samsung’s own generative AI model, has been introduced. This on-device AI model is made up of three unique components: Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image, each of which has been fine-tuned for certain purposes.
Samsung Gauss Language is a generative language model capable of writing emails, summarizing documents, and translating material. It also enables intelligent device control, similar to the capability of devices like as Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
Samsung Gauss Code harnesses the power of the coding assistant, streamlining the coding process for developers by enabling easy and rapid code composition, code description, and test case generation.
Meanwhile, Samsung Gauss picture is a generative picture model that can be used to create and manipulate photos, change their style, and even raise low-quality images to a better resolution.
In a nutshell, Samsung Guass competes directly with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard, DALL-E, and other recent generative AI models.
Samsung’s Gauss pays respect to the legendary mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, who established the Gaussian process, a basic theory in mathematics that is commonly regarded as the foundation of AI.
In January 2024, Samsung Gauss will play a critical role in the Galaxy S24 series. According to the company’s release, Gauss is already being used by Samsung employees to boost productivity.
Because it will be available for the Galaxy S24 series shortly, we anticipate that it will also be available for other Samsung phones and, possibly, other Samsung goods such as tablets and laptops in the future.
