Britney Vernon, a 39-year-old teacher, was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, following s*xual allegations, as reported by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputies received a report concerning these allegations on July 1. An investigation ensued, leading detectives to seek charges against Britney Marie Vernon, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
Vernon, who has been serving as a Career and Technical Education Teacher (CTE) at Randleman High School, joined the Randolph County School System on August 20, 2018.
She began her tenure at Randleman High School on August 21, 2023.
The charges against her are severe, including three counts of felony indecent liberties with a student and three counts of felony s*x acts with a student. Following her arrest, Vernon is being held on a $75,000 unsecured bond.
Her first court appearance is scheduled for August 12. In the wake of these charges, Vernon has been suspended from Randleman High School with pay.
