If you were curious about the appearance of the upcoming OnePlus 12 before its launch in China next week, your curiosity can now be satisfied. OnePlus has offered us an official preview of the phone, and if you really liked the design of the OnePlus 11, you’ll likely be pleased with how the design of its successor is developing.
The appearance is quite similar to the OnePlus 11, although the OnePlus 12 is expected to bring several modifications and enhancements. These include a fresh textured rear surface and the reintroduction of the Alert Slider, now positioned on the phone’s left side and incorporating an integrated antenna.

According to OnePlus this is to help “deliver an enhanced antenna performance for gaming” — improving signal by 3dB and reducing latency by 15%.
The Alert Slider lets users change between ring, vibrate, and silent modes, and has been well-liked by OnePlus users. Initially, it was removed from the OnePlus 10T last year, reportedly to make room for other internal components. This decision wasn’t well-received, and now the company seems to be reconsidering. The OnePlus Open, introduced earlier this year, featured an Alert Slider, and now it appears to have been reintroduced for the main non-folding devices.
The OnePlus 12 is scheduled to be introduced in China on December 5, with a global release anticipated in January. Although the specific date for the worldwide launch is not known at present, OnePlus has assured that this information will be disclosed on December 15, according to Engadget.
