Elon Musk has revealed the imminent release of Grok, an AI chatbot designed exclusively for Premium+ subscribers.
Musk announced that the integration of Grok into the X platform is already underway, with the feature set to go live next week.
Researcher Nima Owji recently revealed images displaying the integration of Grok into X’s web application. The web address, supposedly twitter.com/i/grok, indicates a specific area for Grok within the social platform.

Certainly, Owji suggested an exceptional user interaction, showcasing a “Inquire Grok” text input area for users to engage with the AI chatbot.
Exclusive access for Premium+ subscribers
According to leaked screenshots, users not subscribed to the Premium+ tier will receive invitations to upgrade in order to gain access to Grok’s capabilities.
This strategic move could potentially drive more users to opt for the Premium+ subscription, a tier that promises an enhanced and entertaining AI interaction.
Grok, first experimented with by a specific set of users on November 4, serves as Elon Musk’s reaction to current AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude. Positioned as possessing a “rebellious streak” and a fondness for humor, Grok intends to distinguish itself by addressing even the most provocative questions, a trait not frequently seen in other AI systems.
Despite Musk’s efforts to revamp Twitter Blue into X Premium, the Premium+ subscription has faced challenges in meeting expectations.
To counter this, X aims to broaden its Premium service by introducing three levels, which encompass a $16 per month Premium+ subscription that provides an ad-free encounter in the For You and Following feeds.
X is facing a decline in advertisers because of worries about content that is anti-Semitic and controversies related to Musk’s actions. Introducing Grok to the Premium+ tier is seen as a clever move. The attraction of a fun and animated AI experience, combined with access to up-to-date information, might encourage users to sign up for Premium+ membership.
Apart from introducing Grok for the first time, X is launching a Creator Hub where users can earn money from their content through subscriptions. Placing Grok in the Premium+ tier is in line with X’s overall plan to not only draw in creators but also involve a larger audience by providing various features and advantages. Notably, Musk’s revelation about Grok’s upcoming launch coincides with major advancements at competing AI startup OpenAI.
The quick recruitment and later discussions to bring back CEO Sam Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman at Microsoft have introduced an unforeseen element of competitive dynamics to the AI field.
Elon Musk is getting ready to change how people interact with Grok, while X’s smart decisions about different subscription levels and making money from content show how social platforms are changing. In this shift, AI becoming a crucial part of keeping users interested and making sure the platform lasts.
