In Lahore and other cities of Punjab, it is now mandatory for individuals to carry their driving licenses while operating a motorbike, car, or any other vehicle. The Traffic Police Punjab is responsible for issuing driving licenses to eligible individuals across the province.
These licenses are granted after the applicant’s driving skills are evaluated by the relevant department. Traffic police officers stationed at various points in Lahore have the authority to request the driver’s license for verification purposes.
If a driver is unable to provide their driving permit, they may receive a traffic fine from the police. There are instances where individuals may forget or misplace their driving license in their haste to leave home.
To address this situation, the Punjab Police have introduced an online service that allows citizens to obtain a digital copy of their driving license. This digital copy can be stored on their smartphones and presented to traffic officers when requested.

To access this service, residents of Lahore can visit the website http://dlims.punjab.gov.pk. On the License Info tab, they will find an option for e-license. By selecting this option and entering their CNIC number and date of birth, they can download a PDF copy of their license.
