A well-known restaurant located on Murree’s Mall Road is facing backlash after reportedly charging an exorbitant price for a common food item.
The establishment is now in legal trouble, as it allegedly sold naan for a staggering Rs 150 each, far above the official rate set by the district administration, which is Rs 27 per naan.
The incident came to light when a local customer, a regular at the restaurant, received a bill of Rs 450 for three naans during a recent visit. Shocked by the seemingly inflated prices, the customer reported the matter to the authorities, prompting swift action from the district administration.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the restaurant owner, detailing the alleged offense of overcharging customers for a basic food item.
Such practices not only impose a heavy burden on consumers but also undermine the government’s efforts to regulate prices and ensure fair business practices.
Officials from the district administration are determined to protect consumer rights and uphold price fairness in the region. They emphasize that the official price of Rs 27 for a naan is set to guarantee affordability and accessibility for all residents and visitors.
