In Karachi, gold prices have followed the global trend and experienced a decline. According to data provided by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-carat gold dropped by Rs5,200 per tola, settling at Rs204,900. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold also saw a decrease to Rs4,350.
Internationally, the price of gold fell by 0.50 percent, reaching $1,906 per ounce today. In Pakistan, gold has been subject to fluctuations, with many people considering it a secure investment and a hedge during uncertain times.
Moreover, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) has demonstrated strong gains against the US dollar (USD) in the open market, appreciating by Rs5 against the greenback.
