In the first eight months of 2023, more than 540,000 Pakistanis decided to seek better job opportunities overseas. This data comes from the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, which reported that 540,282 Pakistanis registered for overseas work up until August.
Breaking it down, by July, around 450,000 Pakistanis had already left the country in pursuit of employment abroad. So, in August alone, more than 90,000 additional Pakistanis left their homeland in hopes of finding better work prospects elsewhere.

Taking a closer look at the types of jobs these individuals were seeking, we see that 232,749 were laborers, 118,172 were drivers, 5,589 were engineers, 5,216 were accountants, 2,261 were doctors, and 1,012 were teachers.
Analyzing these statistics by occupation, 15,052 were highly qualified, 31,130 were highly skilled, 197,719 were skilled, 57,516 were semi-skilled, and the majority, a whopping 238,865, were unskilled.
