The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a recovery drive against tax defaulters in all major cities of the country.
The highest authorities have made a decision to collect overdue taxes from those who haven’t paid up, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is taking action on this front.
They’ve put together a list of around 11,000 tax defaulters and shared their names with the relevant tax offices in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
These defaulters come from various backgrounds, including industrialists, factory owners, wholesalers, property dealers, and traders.
The FBR plans to follow all the necessary legal procedures before resorting to extreme measures like arrests.
The defaulters will have a chance to respond to the notices they receive.
Additionally, the FBR has already started taking action against wealthy individuals who didn’t pay the Capital Value Tax (CVT) on their foreign assets held abroad, totaling Rs. 3 billion.
They’ve taken strong measures against 200 individuals who didn’t respond to multiple notices.
