Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan have become the most successful opening pair in T20 cricket history following the last match of their T20I series against England.
The duo has achieved an impressive 24 partnerships of 50 or more runs in T20 matches, breaking the previous record of 23 set by Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Out of these 24 fifty-plus scores, Azam and Rizwan have converted 10 into century partnerships, showcasing their exceptional consistency at the top of the order for Pakistan.
During the 4th T20I match against England, Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam achieved another personal milestone. At 29 years old, he became the first Pakistani and only the second player ever to score 4,000 T20I runs, joining India’s Virat Kohli, who has 4,037 runs.
Additionally, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have now scored 3,227 runs together in T20 cricket, making them the most successful and formidable batting pair in this format.
