In Lahore, the National Registration and Database Authority (Nadra) is now issuing the new Smart National Identity Card (NIC) to Pakistani citizens. This unique 13-digit identification number holds nationwide recognition and serves as a mandatory requirement for various documents such as licenses, NTN, bank accounts, passports, and cellular connections.
Eligibility for the new Smart NIC is granted to every citizen of Pakistan who is 18 years and above.
How to Apply for the New Smart ID Card:
Individuals can apply for the new Smart NIC by either visiting a NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or utilizing the Pak Identity website. The application can be submitted online through the Pak Identity website, and the card will be delivered to the applicant’s doorstep. However, it’s important to note that applying for a fresh/new CNIC cannot be done directly on the website.
Smart ID Card Normal, Urgent and Executive Fee (As of January 2024):
As of January 2024, the fee structure for the new Smart National Identity Card remains unchanged. The normal fee for the card is Rs750, while the urgent processing fee is Rs1,500. For those opting for the executive category, Nadra charges Rs2,500.
These fees cater to the different processing speeds, providing citizens with options based on their urgency and preferences.
