Suchana Seth, a 39-year-old entrepreneur and founder of the Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence start-up, Mindful AI Lab, was arrested in Karnataka’s Chitradurga town. The shocking revelation came to light when she was found with her four-year-old son’s lifeless body concealed in a bag.
The horrifying sequence of events allegedly took place in Goa, where it is reported that Suchana Seth took the life of her young son in an apartment located in Candolim, a coastal town in the northern part of the state. The details surrounding this tragedy are yet to be fully uncovered.
The reason behind the crime is still unclear, but investigators are focusing on the troubled relationship between the CEO, Suchana Seth, and her estranged husband, Venkat Raman, as a possible cause.
Suchana, originally from West Bengal, seemed greatly affected by her ongoing divorce with her husband, an AI developer based in Indonesia.
The situation unfolded when Suchana and her son sought refuge at Sol Banyan Grande in North Goa’s Candolim. Despite checking in with her son, the absence of her husband added complexity to the story.
On Monday, Suchana checked out, leaving perplexing clues. Alone and determined, she requested a taxi to Bengaluru, rejecting suggestions to take a flight, leaving the hotel staff puzzled.
During this, the staff made a heart-wrenching discovery – her son was missing. Concerns grew as they found ominous bloodstains in her hotel room.
The hotel staff alerted Goa police, who contacted the taxi driver. When questioned about her son, Suchana provided a confusing response, claiming he was with a friend at an address that turned out to be false.
The police, speaking in Konkani to the taxi driver, directed him to change course to the nearest police station in Chitradurga, about 200 kilometers from Bengaluru. Following their instructions, the driver’s action led to the apprehension of Suchana.
The police found that concealed within the bag she had been traveling with was the lifeless body of her young son.
Ms. Seth was swiftly arrested and transported back to Goa for extensive questioning. Additionally, the police have issued a call for her husband to return to India.
