Her academic journey includes earning a Bachelor of Science in economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Following this, she pursued and successfully obtained her JD from Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law in 1989.
During her law school years, Judge Holthus served as a clerk at Rawlings, Olson & Cannon, subsequently joining Jones, Jones Close & Brown as an associate.
In the year 1991, she embarked on a dedicated path of public service by becoming an assistant district attorney in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. Her early assignments included general litigations, and later she transitioned to the specialized Crimes Against Women and Children Unit.
Over a remarkable 16-year span, Judge Holthus tirelessly prosecuted cases involving sexual assaults, child abuse, and domestic violence. Her unwavering commitment and significant contributions led to her appointment as an assistant district attorney.
Beyond her professional achievements, Judge Holthus is a married woman and a proud mother of three adult children, reflecting a balanced and fulfilling personal life.
