Alanis Pinion, a 24-year-old female educator teaching eighth grade at a Wilmington private Catholic school, was arrested for sending s*xual photos to her 14-year-old student.
Upon learning of the allegations, the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington was contacted and fully cooperated with the investigation.
Rev. James T. Kirk Jr. stated that earlier in the week, the New Castle County Police had notified the school about an investigation and the subsequent arrest of Pinion.
Kirk highlighted that Pinion had successfully completed the required background check process before her employment. The school, parish, and Diocese officials supported the police throughout their investigation. Emphasizing the safety of children and youth as a primary goal, Kirk assured parents of their commitment.
