ISLAMABAD: According to the latest report from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), motorcycle sales in Pakistan decreased by 3.11 percent in the fiscal year 2023-24.
According to the report, the bike cycle dropped to 1.15 million as compared to the previous fiscal year’s 1.19 million. However, a year-on-year sales increase of 8.38 percent was recorded in June 2024.
Despite this monthly improvement, there was a significant 24.34 percent drop from the previous month, marking the third consecutive fiscal year of declining sales.
Furthermore, the PAMA report added that the sales figure reached almost a 10-year low in the previous year. The production trends also decreased in parallel to the sales.
The total production of motorcycles and three-wheelers with a drop of 3 percent compared to FY23 recorded 1.15 million units in FY24, according to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
In June 2024, production reached 87,844 units, marking a 9.94 percent rise compared to June 2023. However, this figure reflects a significant 27.14 percent decline from May 2024. Between July and April of the 2023-24 fiscal year, 941,406 motorbikes and three-wheelers were sold, compared to 1,006,839 units sold in the same period of 2022-23.
