Karachi Weather update: Karachi will face a significant rise in temperatures this week. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has predicted a heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 40°C from Wednesday to Friday. Warm and dry winds from the northwest will prevail during the day, though sea breezes might bring some relief in the evenings.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly to around 35 to 37°C in the first week of June, but the weather will stay hot and humid throughout the next month. Weather expert Owais Hyder has called this week potentially the “hottest week of the year,” with temperatures between 40 to 42°C from Tuesday to Thursday.
Residents are advised to stay indoors and drink plenty of water to avoid heatstroke. The extreme heat often leads to power shortages and extended periods without electricity in some areas.
Scientists link Pakistan’s extreme weather events to climate change, highlighting the importance of these warnings. The current heatwave, affecting the city for several weeks, is expected to continue until early June.
