KIA Lucky Motors surprised the market by announcing a significant reduction of 1.5 million PKR on the top-of-the-line variant of their Stonic model. This move aimed to enhance customer satisfaction and boost sales for a model that previously struggled to perform well in the KIA lineup.
In response to this competitive maneuver, Pak Suzuki also slashed the price of the Swift lineup on May 01, 2024. The top-of-the-line variant of the Swift now boasts a price cut of 710,000 PKR. This adjustment intensifies the competition between the KIA Stonic and the Suzuki Swift, positioning them as strong rivals in the market.
Here’s the latest pricing of both cars after the recent price cuts:
- KIA Stonic EX+: PKR 4,767,000
- Suzuki Swift GLX CVT: PKR 4,719,000
Now, let’s delve into a detailed comparison of both cars to help you make an informed decision. Both vehicles share almost identical pricing, features, body segments, and safety specifications.
KIA Stonic:
The KIA Stonic, a blend of “Stylish” and “Iconic,” is categorized as a C-segment crossover by the company. It inherits design elements from both SUVs and hatchbacks, representing a generational upgrade from the compact Picanto. With a lower center of gravity, robust build, wide tires, and a 99 HP engine, the Stonic offers enjoyable road grip and driving dynamics. The recent price reduction makes the Stonic a compelling option, particularly for those seeking an upgrade from smaller hatchbacks or Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles. However, KIA has announced that they are no longer accepting bookings for the Stonic, potentially leading to premium charges for express delivery.
Suzuki Swift:
The Suzuki Swift is a well-established hatchback in Pakistan, renowned for its strong resale value attributed to the Suzuki brand. It boasts affordable maintenance, readily available parts, good fuel efficiency, and hassle-free resale. While it may not match the Stonic in terms of driving performance, the Swift remains a popular choice, especially after the significant price cut on the GLX CVT variant.
